I’m interested in ecophysiology as a tool to answer broad questions on how organisms can adapt to their environment.

My PhD focused on desert ants and the various mechanisms underlying their spectacular ability to withstand extreme body temperatures. Currently, by Integrating our knowledge in cellular biology with ecologically relevant data, we aim to further decipher abiotic stress tolerance pathways in both model and non model organisms. Ultimately, this could help us understand how such pressures have shaped physiology as a driver of species distribution.
