I am mainly interested in invasion biology and pest management using several tools and approaches (physiology, ecology, molecular analyses,…)
My PhD work focused on the invasion of an Asian Cerambycide in Europe. I am now working on an emerging pest native to South Africa, Cacosceles newmannii (Cerambycidae) that has recently undergone a host shift onto sugarcane.
My aim is to elucidate the mechanisms involved in this host shift, as well as getting a better understanding of this species biology in order to implement targeted management procedures.
